Serving Individuals
Each of the Goodwill organizations in the VGN offers regional programs customized to the needs of individuals in their particular communities. From youth to seniors, Goodwill helps to remove obstacles to employment through training and support so each individual can find self confidence and success through work.

There are several levels of service that individuals can receive through Goodwill.

Primary Service Categories
Basic Services These services are "soft touch" in nature. Typically, they include services available to the public (rather than more intensive individualized career services). Job Fairs, Self-Service Career Centers, and Medical Equipment Loan or Donation are examples of "Basic Services"
Placement Focused Intensive Services in this category have an expected outcome of job placement. Usually, a Goodwill case manager or direct service worker is assigned to each individual participating in placement focused programs and services. Skills training, job development and job placement programs are examples of "Placement Intensive Services."
Organizational Intensive Maintenance and enhancement of skills for independent functioning level, or maintenance of employment may be the expected result of programs and services in this category. A case manager or direct service worker is usually assigned to each participant and services may be delivered over an extended period of time.
